Who We Are

Welcome to the website of Sarah Wells, an aspiring artist based in Hobart. Sarah is dedicated to bringing her own multi-coloured, fantasy realms to life through a range of mediums, including personalised canvas paintings, murals, digital designs and animations. She is currently accepting commissions.

Sarah's earlier works focused on biting sarcasm and exaggerated coloration, exploring themes such as warped ideals of body image and inappropriate awkwardness. She conveyed these ideas through a hyper-toned aesthetic featuring fictionalized, plasticine-like cartoon caricatures set in fantasy environments. Her intention was to confront her audience through absurd obscurity, aiming to evoke reactions ranging from laughter to disgust, capturing the word 'silly' in her collection.

More recently, Sarah has evolved her style, drawing inspiration from visionary artists such as Morgan Mandala, John Speaker, Randal Roberts, Alyson and Alex Grey. Her focus has shifted towards discovering her paintings and connecting with the divine to guide her creative vision. She emphasizes flow, ensuring each piece works both separately and together. Her latest works explore humanity's connection with nature, including the impact we have on it, as well as the spirits and energies that exist simultaneously in all things.
